Our instructor, Gustavo Mottola, has devoted his entire professional life to achieving excellence in the art of makeup.  His talents have been seen on magazine covers, films and on television.  His client list reads like a Who's Who of celebrities, politicians and actors.

Q. What will I get out of the Makeup Artist Course?
A. We provide makeup training in areas ranging from which makeup formulas to use, color balance, contrast, make-up for black and white and color photography and the technique of application and correction. Also teaching you how to identify the different types of lighting in all media situations and be able to apply the above skills accordingly. Not only can our make-up artists work with actors, celebrities, entertainers, fashion models, and musicians, you will get a solid look in the basic skills of application for the every day person. This creates the best foundation to also work with brides, salons, cosmetics companies or even as an image consultant. You can have unlimited possibilities in the field due to the vast market. Our makeup artist courses will build your confidence as a makeup artist! Here is a list of 3 things you will get from the 4 day course:

1. Marketing tips and techniques on how to make this a successful business.
2. A make-up artist kit valued at $375.00, which includes a set of 10 professional brushes, used by make-up artists world wide.
3. A nationally recognized document of certification deeming you schooled and skilled in the area of make-up artistry.

Q. Do I need to be licensed to work as a make-up artist?
A. Every state has different laws pertaining to the licensing of a make-up artist. Check with your state Licensing Department to find out their requirements. The state of Virginia (where the corporate headquarters are located) does not require a license.

Q. Does Gustavo Cosmetics Makeup School provide me with a license?
A. Because every states laws are different, it is impossible to provide all criteria of licensing for every state. Upon completion of the course and after passing the final test, Gustavo Cosmetics Makeup School will provide you with a nationally recognized document of certification deeming you schooled and skilled in the area of media make-up artistry.

Q. When I submit a application for consideration, does that guarantee me a post ion in a class?
A. We want to make sure this is a win-win for both of us. Therefore, we carefully consider each applicant, and make our decision of acceptance based on information given to us in the application. Once accepted, a deposit is the only thing that reserves a position in a class.

Q. How long is the course?
A. Our courses are from 4 days for beginners (Accelerated Program) to a 3 day some experience needed, to a 2 or 1 day Advanced/hands on class.

A. Virginia

Q. Does Gustavo Cosmetics Makeup School have locations in other states?
A. Currently, Gustavo Cosmetics courses are only offered in Virginia. The applications we teach can be used Nationally and Internationally.

Q. How many students are in a class?
A. Most schools have 1 instructor to 40+ students. We only allow 6 students per class to provide you the maximum personal attention.

Q. How will I find work?
A. Some schools do not offer information for finding employment while others charge additionally for this information. Part of our curriculum includes marketing of yourself and your business. We teach you about the industry, the etiquette, and how to make this a successful business. We also have many resources and options for potential work available to our students.

Q. What is the age requirement to apply?
A. If you are under 18 years of age, you must have a legal guardian sign the contract.
